The 5th Arbovirus Surveillance & Mosquito Control Workshop, St. Augustine, Florida, March 26-28, 2008 (Sponsored by AMCD and USDA/CMAVE)
The purpose: To exchange & share information about mosquito-borne disease and vector mosquito population surveillance data, review recent developed techniques for surveillance and control of mosquitoes, and provide training for professional employees.
The Major Topics: This year will be another dynamic year. The first day will cover international and national issues on mosquito-borne disease and control. The second day will cover federal and state government, and universities on mosquito-borne disease surveillance, research and control. The third day will cover local mosquito control districts/agencies and vendors' programs and techniques. The topics to be addressed will pertain to mosquito population and arbovirus / mosquito-borne disease surveillance (state and local programs and surveillance techniques) and mosquito control ( program evaluation, pesticide resistance and pesticide safety). Who should attend: Entomologists, biologists, epidemiologists, mosquito control workers, administrators, field inspector/sprayers, public health workers, and veterinarians.
Registration & Materials Fee: $50 per day, 3 day session for $150 including 3 lunches and 1 dinner. Cash/money order or Check will be accepted for registration fee. Make your check payable to AMCD and mark for workshop. We do not accept payment using any kind of credit card. CEU credits (15) will be provided. Participation will be limited to 90-100 people.
