What is AMCD doing?
- Increased surveillance of mosquito population and mosquito-borne diseases
- Increased use of: Bti, source reduction and when necessary pesticide use
What can you do?
- Protect yourself: wear pants, long sleeve shirts and insect repellent that contains deet when outdoors
- Avoid going outdoors during dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active
- Clean rain gutters by removing leaves and debris
- Empty any containers that are filled with water and can breed mosquitoes
- Repair screens
- Rake and dispose of leaves
- Drain potted plants that hold water such as bromeliads
