| Mosquitoes
will breed in any standing fresh or brackish (salty) water. Certain
species prefer different types of water and habitats. Different species
will breed in containers, salt marsh, woodland pools, plants (such as
bromiliads) and ditches. Mosquitoes will stay nearby their breeding areas
and travel limited distances, however they can be carried by wind miles
from their breeding habitat. Below are some examples of habitat and a
diagram of where you may find mosquitoes breeding around your home. Some
